Several times each year the the LSGSPC hosts several local AKC sanctioned Field Trials.These events, typically held at the LBJ Grasslands near Alvord , TX, provide an opportunity for participants dogs even dogs in wheelchairs to compete head to head with other dogs in a test of bird finding and pointing ability. If you appreciate watching beautiful pointing dogs exhibit their skill in competition,these events should not be missed . Check the calendar of events for future dates.
The LSGSPC holds two annual AKC sanctioned Hunt Tests at it's training lease in Midlothian, TX, one in the fall and another in early spring. These events are NOT a competition like Field Trials , but rather a true test of the dogs ability as judged against the AKC criteria for Pointing Breeds. These are fun events were dogs attempt to gain qualifying scores towards Junior , Senior and Master Hunt titles.
